The Open Data Institute (ODI) is a non-profit private company limited by guarantee, based in the United Kingdom. The ODI is:
catalysing the evolution of open data culture to create economic, environmental, and social value. It helps unlock supply, generates demand, creates and disseminates knowledge to address local and global issues.
Since the opening of the Open Data Institute, the organization has been overwhelmed with requests to set up similar versions of the organization around the world. This has led to the development of nodes around the world, which have adopted the same goals of spreading and developing the principles open data technology.
