PUBLIC NOTIFICATION OF AN APPLICATION MADE UNDER REGULATION 10 OF THE POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL (ENGLAND AND WALES) REGULATIONS 2000
INTEGRATED POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL
Notice is hereby given that Alchema Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for an Integrated Pollution Prevention and
Control (IPPC) permit to operate an installation involving the production of ammonium hydroxide, ammonium chloride, copper
carbonate, copper oxide and the use of hydrochloric acid. The installation is located at East Ord Industrial Estate, Berwick-upon-Tweed.
TD15 2XF, in the borough of Berwick-upon-Tweed in the county of Northumberland.
The application contains a description of any foreseeable significant effects of emissions from the installation on the environment.
Information relating to the above IPPC application for a permit to operate the Alchema Limited site is held in registers in
the following locations:
The Environment Agency Office, Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle Business Park, Newcastle NE4 7AR; and
IPPC Public Register, c/o Ross Buchanan Environmental Health, Berwick-upon-Tweed Borough Council, Council Offices, Wallace
Green, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland TD15 1ED.
Members of the public can inspect the registers, free of charge, at the above stated addresses during normal office hours.
In addition, Members of the public who wish to obtain a copy of the relevant information contained in the registers can do
so upon the payment of a reasonable charge for the cost of copying. Any objections or representations to the above IPPC application
should be made in writing to the Environment Agency at the address below, within 28 days from the date of this public notice.

Any such objections or representations will be entered into a public register unless the person making them requests in writing
that they should not be so placed. If there is such a request, the register will only include a statement that there has been
a request.
