STANSTED RAIL IMPROVEMENT ORDER 200[ ]
NOTICE OF EXTENSION OF EXPIRY DATE FOR OBJECTIONS TO AN APPLICATION FOR AN ORDER
NOTICE is hereby given that the expiry date for making objections to the Stansted Rail Improvement Order 200[ ] has been extended from 30 May 2008 to 27 June 2008.
Application was made on 27 March 2008 by Stansted Airport Limited to the Secretary of State for Transport for an Order under Sections 1 and 5 of the Transport and Works Act 1992 for the purposes of which the following is a concise summary:
The Order makes provision for Stansted Airport Limited to construct works and compulsorily acquire land and rights in land for the purposes of improvement works to the railway serving Stansted Airport. The works will include the construction of a new fourth platform at Stansted Airport Station and the construction of a second tunnel alongside the existing rail tunnel into Stansted Airport Station.
The application is made subject to an environmental impact assessment.
Any person wishing to object to the application must do so in writing addressed to the Secretary of State for Transport c/o/ The TWA Orders Unit, Department for Transport, 9th Floor, Southside, 105 Victoria Street, London SW1E 6DT or by email to transportandworksact@dft.gsi.gov.uk stating the grounds of objection and the objector’s name and address. The expiry date for making objections to the Order is 27 June 2008.
