PUBLIC NOTIFICATION OF AN APPLICATION MADE UNDER REGULATION 10 OF THE POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL (ENGLAND AND WALES) REGULATIONS 2000

INTEGRATED POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL

Notice is hereby given that AEI Cables Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for an Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) permit to operate an installation involving the melting of lead and extruding lead sheaths over electric cables. The installation is located at AEI Cables Limited, Crete Hall Road, Gravesend, Kent DA11 9AF, in the borough of Gravesham in the county of Kent.
The application contains a description of any foreseeable significant effects of emissions from the installation on the environment.
Information relating to the above IPPC application for a permit to operate the Cable Works is held in registers at the following locations:

Environment Agency Office, Guildbourne House, Chatsworth Road, Worthing, West Sussex BN11 1LT; and
Gravesham Borough Council, Cygnet House, 132 Windmill Street, Gravesend, Kent DA12 1BQ.

Members of the public can inspect these registers, free of charge, at the above-stated addresses during normal office hours. In addition, members of the public who wish to obtain a copy of the relevant information contained in the registers can do so upon the payment of a reasonable charge to cover the costs of copying.
Any objections or representations to the above IPPC application should be made in writing to the Environment Agency at the address below, within 28 days from the date of this public notice:

Environment Agency Area Office, Orchard House, Endeavour Park, London Road, Addington, West Malling, Kent ME19 5SH.

Any such objection or representations will be entered into a public register unless the person making them requests in writing that they should not be so placed. If there is such a request, the register will only include a statement that there has been a request.
